Getting Started:

For U.S. citizens, compliance with the Transportation Security Administration is straightforward: we simply require a copy of your birth certificate and a government-issued photo ID, or a U.S. Passport, to confirm your citizenship. International candidates will undergo a TSA screening process, but fret not—we're here to guide you every step of the way. Once cleared, you're all set to embark on our private pilot course.

Private Pilot License Requirements:

• Minimum age of 17 to obtain your Private Pilot License, and 16 to fly solo. No minimum age to start flight training.
• Proficiency in English is essential for communication and understanding in aviation.
• A third-class FAA medical certificate is required for solo flights.
• All training is conducted by FAA-certified flight instructors.
• You must fulfill the FAA's training requisites, including at least 35 hours of dual flight instruction, 35 hours of ground instruction, and receive a final endorsement from your Certified Flight Instructor for the practical flight test.
• Passing the written aeronautical knowledge test and the Private Pilot Flight test is mandatory.

This initial experience includes a brief introduction to your Cessna Skyhawk, a pre-flight overview, and 35 minutes of hands-on flying. Post-flight, you'll receive a logbook entry commemorating your first flight hours, which will contribute towards your total flight time should you decide to continue.

At Ocean Aviation Flight Academy, we adapt to your lifestyle, offering flexible scheduling that fits your pace, whether you're set on an accelerated path or prefer flying once or twice a week. Our pay-as-you-go system ensures there's no need for a large upfront payment. Training under FAA Part 141 (with the provision to switch to part 61 if necessary), our program includes all required dual and solo flight time, enrollment in the Cessna Pilot Center Private Pilot Course, and comprehensive classroom training. Note that the cost of FAA medical, knowledge test, flight test, and certain equipment is not covered in the tuition.
