Taos Hot Air Balloon Rides

We pride ourselves on offering our hot air ballooning customers a first-class experience. Here's what your Taos balloon flight itinerary will look like:

We meet our guests 45 minutes before sunrise, then drive to the launch site on the Rio Grande Gorge. Here, you'll receive a comprehensive balloon safety and flight lesson, which includes firing off the burners and, if you wish, flying the balloon.

During the setup, in-flight, and on the ground, we capture photos to ensure you have lasting memories of your experience. Our balloons lift off at sunrise when the winds are most gentle and predictable. Paradise Balloons takes pride in its flawless flying record since its inception in 1991.

The balloon flight itself lasts about an hour, taking you up, over, down into, and through the Rio Grande Gorge, which is approximately 600 feet deep. We'll follow the river downstream for a possible "splash and dash," and you might even spot golden eagles, deer, or big horn sheep on the canyon walls. The flight concludes with a gentle, panoramic view over the Taos Valley.

After landing, we pack up and celebrate with a traditional Champagne Brunch. The entire ballooning experience lasts about 4 hours. Thanks to Taos's favorable weather conditions, cancellations are rare, and there is no charge until after the flight. Please note our 48-hour cancellation policy.
