Heli Co - 60 Mile Ultimate Tour

Departing from New Orleans Lakefront Airport we start by flying past Metairie, Kenner, and the international airport as we head towards Gator Alley where we will try to spot a few (if not many more!) alligators below us. From Gator Alley you will follow the path of the Mississippi River as we head back towards New Orleans. You will see first hand how busy the Mississippi River is as a waterway of commerce! Flying past the Huey P. Long Bridge you will come to Uptown, the home of Audubon Park as well as both Tulane and Loyola University. 

Continuing towards the city you will get close up views of the Central Business District, the Smoothie King Center, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, and the Crescent City Connection Bridge.

Then it’s time to see the The French Quarter, also known as the Vieux Carre or by locals simply as “the quarter”. The French Quarter is the historical center of New Orleans, and encompasses sites such as Jackson Square, the St. Louis Cathedral, the French Market as well as Bourbon Street. 

Leaving Bourbon Street you will continue your journey along the Mississippi River coming to the Bywater neighborhood, the Lower 9th Ward and passing by the Chalmette Battlefield.

Flying further east we get to see the swamps along Lake Borgne, the Lake Borgne Surge Barrier, and the NASA Michoud facility where Boeing is currently building the Space Launch System rocket.

Before returning to Lakefront Airport you will fly over the abandoned Six Flags Theme park in New Orleans East, which has been used as the filming location for several movies including “Jurassic World”.
