Birdman Academy Tandem Hang Gliding Introductory Flight

Experience the thrill of hang gliding at the Point of the Mountain, either in a tandem flight with an experienced pilot or by taking the controls yourself after a beginner hang gliding lesson. No prior experience is necessary to enjoy the breathtaking views as a passenger. Opt for a lesson, and you'll learn everything from setup to takeoff, culminating in your own low-altitude flight.

The tandem flight experience is available for $189, inclusive of complimentary photos. For those desiring a keepsake, video footage of your tandem flight can be added for an additional $30.

Please note, participants must be 18 or older to sign the waiver. The South Side of the mountain, known for its favorable morning conditions, comes highly recommended for these adventures. The ideal weight for hang gliding tandem participants is 180 pounds or less, although accommodations can be made for up to 200 pounds under the right conditions.

Beginner hang gliding lessons are tailored for individuals weighing between 100 and 240 pounds, ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning experience.

For those intrigued by the allure of paragliding, we also offer both tandem and solo flights at the Point of the Mountain. Similar to hang gliding, you can either savor the flight as a passenger in a tandem setup or engage in a beginner paragliding lesson. The lesson includes comprehensive instruction on setup, ground handling, and the intricacies of controls and takeoff, empowering you to pilot the glider in a serene, low-altitude flight.
